The school required a system with semi-custom equipment that was both energy and cost-efficient and could be installed during a short summer construction schedule. HTS worked closely with contractors Wesley Crow Electric and Canales Sheet Metal, and architect and MEP engineer O’Connell Robertson to provide a system that could meet the tight budget and fast-paced construction schedule.

Several high-quality and high-efficiency units were installed. Two Daikin AGZ air-cooled chillers totaling 160 tons and three Daikin Vision Indoor Air Handling Units with Heat Pipe Technology Energy Recovery totaling 20,000 CFM were provided. The system also included two 1500 MBH boilers and 70 split systems totaling 210 tons. The Daikin indoor semi-custom Air Handling Units have a 30-year life expectancy, and the renovation resulted in a 30 percent decrease in maintenance costs and a 30 percent reduction in energy usage for mechanical systems.
